I love when I am contacted by friends about scheduling with me, it makes me smile. I have know Christy since she was a cute and chubby Elementary schooler and I her chiken-legged-skinny classmate. Then the years went by and our friendship grew, we graduated High School, and both met and married the men of our dreams. And now she’s expecting a beautiful boy come December! I can’t wait to watch her become a mommy. I had such a fun morning with her and Alex roaming the countryside and enjoying using all the beautiful scenery. I have SO many favorites from this session it’s a little bigger of a sneak peek than usual. Oh and some side notes that I noticed: #1 there are a lot of portrait oriented images in this session which is unusual for me, I’m usually a landscape kinda girl. #2 The colors in this shoot were so rich and warm I couldn’t bring myself to change any of them to black and white for this post.

So…I have always made fun of Christy’s fabulously double jointed fingers and I thought it would be appropriately sentimental to get a spoof shot involving those crazy phalanges of hers. I’m sure you can spot all the funny elements without me pointing them out to you….

I feel like a part of the family with Brytnee and Chris. I went to highschool with both of them but only knew them casually. Then I did their engagements and then their wedding. Now I am celebrating a new addition with them by shooting their maternity and newborn! I can’t wait to meet miss Alice, she is going to have some pretty awesome parents. These two are such troopers, they put up with all my crazy ideas. I made them climb things for their engagements, sit on things they probably wouldn’t have considered normally doing while in their wedding attire and this time I asked if they would be willing to do a 7am shoot sitting in freezing cold river water. And they said yes! I was so stoked and I love the images. They were also my first clients comfortable enough to shoot some skin on skin photos. They have such beautiful creamy complexions, the images are just stunning. These two beautiful-blue-eyed-soon-to-be-parents had me laughing the whole morning. Thanks for the fabulously fun time guys!

Behind the scenes of the first dip in the water

Caitie and Brandon make one fabulously beautiful couple and I can’t wait to see the beautiful baby girl they’ve created. Aubrey will be along in just a few short weeks and I think the only person more impatient to see her than me is mom. The genuine love Caitie and Brandon share is evident in every look and every touch and it was so tender to witness. I can’t wait to see their love for little Aubrey.

Sharon is expecting her first little girl after having raised four adorable boys and I, for one, cannot wait to meet her. We lucked out with some beautiful morning light and we had the park all to ourselves. We also managed to have an accidental “vintage” theme. Sharon brought along her grandmothers beautiful wooden chair and some vintage baby dresses and I had stuck my dads old copy of the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales in my bag. What I happy accident, I loved the results! And isn’t she one beautiful mama?
