Loved my evening with Jourdan and her mom wandering around downtown Spokane. We got lucky and scored some beautiful warm sunshine even though the days sandwiching our shoot were blech. Jourdan was a master at paying attention to wardrobe details, she really took all of my tips and advice that I give pre-session to heart. The shoe selections, jewelry, hats and scarves and the way she chose tops with detail like that fab sequined one all really helped her stand out in her images. Miss Megs was up for any adventure during our shoot and it made it so much fun to have zero boundaries to my creative vision. “Could you climb up into that hay loft? Onto that old truck? Tread through the muck?” “Sure!” She was just plain awesome. I should have expected adventure from a girl who really wanted a rural setting. Me, Meg and my assistant Maya had such a fun evening together, I love getting to feel and act like a teenager again every time I have a senior session. And then when I get home and load beautiful images of a beautiful girl like these onto my computer I can’t help but think that I have the best job ever. If you’re graduating in 2014, now is the time to contact me and book your session for summer/fall. I am booking up fast!

When I was questioning Cassidy about ways to custom tailor her session to her she mentioned that she was looking for an edgy/artsy background and feel to her images. Then when she emailed me images of her wardrobe selections and I saw the pink pants and deep pink shirt combo I knew I wanted to take her to a location I’d been eying for a while that was filled with old fruit bins that still had traces of faded green paint on them. The contrasting green with her fab outfit and my accompanying pink chair made for an eye-popping combo. I love how much freedom and flexibility I have as an on location photographer in being able to really customize the location to your style. We spent the rest of her shoot wandering the downtown Moscow alleys and stopping at the places I had already picked out earlier in the week to compliment each outfit. And when the sunset peeked through at the end of our shoot, we had to take advantage of that gorgeous golden light and ended up with some of my favorite shots. Cassidy’s fashion sense, natural ease in front of the camera (despite being incredibly humble) and the beautiful evening we chose made for a memorable shoot indeed!

Haley is one of those girls that it takes about 5 minutes after meeting her to understand that she’s as beautiful inside as she is outside. She has such a pure realness about her. I loved that Haley wanted to incorporate her passion for ballet in a way that you wouldn’t typically think of; namely gritty/edgy backgrounds for her delicate costume and elegant posing. The light last September during her shoot was so warm and golden and really gave Haley a gorgeous glow.

Courtney is the baby of her family and I’m pretty bummed that I won’t be seeing anymore beautiful Webster girls for their senior photos after her. I worked with her sister Kira in fall of 2011 and I did some family photos for them this past summer. Courtney is beautiful inside and out and I sure enjoyed driving through the country with her and her mom chatting and stopping at some beautiful rural locations for her photos.

Haley was a complete natural in front of the camera and I loved how brightly her sweet personality shined through the images. Working with teenage girls and showing them how incredibly beautiful and individual they are is a complete treat. I had also been dying to test out this new location and Haley ended up being the perfect candidate for the job!

This was the most last minute session I’ve ever had…4 hours from time of booking to time of shooting, lol! I’m so glad it worked out though because this is one senior I would not have wanted to miss out on!
