I love spring time photos, all of the beautiful blooms are so dreamy. Another thing that accompanies spring time around Eastern Washington is wind. And, as an on location photographer, I’ve learned to love and embrace all of mother natures elements. This session was a special one for me because Oliver’s big sister happened to be my very first newborn client back in 2010. It was humbling that the Price family wanted to return and use me once again. It was also humbling to be reminded of just how much growth I’ve had in the last three years. Looking at big sisters session compared to “baby O’s” session was on the verge of embarrassing until I reminded myself that both sessions are equally cherished by their parents for what they captured.Oliver was a very sweet and cooperative little peanut and big sister even managed to work with us for some cuddly photos (which is quite a challenge for a three year old! ) Thank you Price family for your loyalty and for giving me the pleasure of documenting your sweet family grow.

Annalise 1 Year | Pullman/Moscow/Spokane Baby Photographer | Cali Jenae Photography

I love getting to see my clients children grow, and especially in that first year since they change so much and so quickly! Here are the photos from Annalise’s newborn session with me. We were lucky to get nice enough weather to do outside spring photos for Annalise and we even hunted down the first of the spring blooms. You can see in the photos that we had fun with her favorite ball, played peek-a-boo and had fun smashing up her beautiful first birthday cake. I also love that mom brought some sentimental items. I always instruct clients that baby photo sessions should be about capturing the stage that they’re at at the time, since it goes away so quickly. And it just so happened that Annalise was in a stage where she couldn’t get enough cuddles from her stuffed turtle. I love the sweetness of that image. Another sentimental item mom brought was the crocheted dress her mom made for her grandbaby and which they took photos of her in as a newborn. Loved my evening with Jourdan and her mom wandering around downtown Spokane. We got lucky and scored some beautiful warm sunshine even though the days sandwiching our shoot were blech. Jourdan was a master at paying attention to wardrobe details, she really took all of my tips and advice that I give pre-session to heart. The shoe selections, jewelry, hats and scarves and the way she chose tops with detail like that fab sequined one all really helped her stand out in her images. Miss Megs was up for any adventure during our shoot and it made it so much fun to have zero boundaries to my creative vision. “Could you climb up into that hay loft? Onto that old truck? Tread through the muck?” “Sure!” She was just plain awesome. I should have expected adventure from a girl who really wanted a rural setting. Me, Meg and my assistant Maya had such a fun evening together, I love getting to feel and act like a teenager again every time I have a senior session. And then when I get home and load beautiful images of a beautiful girl like these onto my computer I can’t help but think that I have the best job ever. The Price family has been one of my most loyal clients and I’ve loved getting to watch their sweet little family grow. Zella was my first newborn three years ago and now I get to photograph her baby brother Oliver next week. We had a fun morning with this shoot and lucked out that the snow they forecasted decided not to come. Mom and dad are both nurses and I loved that they decided to incorporate their love of the medical field in their personal prop selection. I always encourage clients to think of items that will personalize their shoot.
