I love getting to see my clients children grow, and especially in that first year since they change so much and so quickly! Here are the photos from Annalise’s newborn session with me. We were lucky to get nice enough weather to do outside spring photos for Annalise and we even hunted down the first of the spring blooms. You can see in the photos that we had fun with her favorite ball, played peek-a-boo and had fun smashing up her beautiful first birthday cake. I also love that mom brought some sentimental items. I always instruct clients that baby photo sessions should be about capturing the stage that they’re at at the time, since it goes away so quickly. And it just so happened that Annalise was in a stage where she couldn’t get enough cuddles from her stuffed turtle. I love the sweetness of that image. Another sentimental item mom brought was the crocheted dress her mom made for her grandbaby and which they took photos of her in as a newborn. Mason was one of my Grow with Me Plan babies and I am so sad that this was the last session of his first year! He was such a ray of sunshine every time that we got together. That blue-eyed-blonde-haired-big-dimpled-sweetie always had some new, adorable personality quirk every time I got to photograph him. For this session it was his “grumpy face” which is so cute that mom and dad trained him to do it on command haha. Oh how I want to chew on this little cutie’s cheeks. He’s so incredibly cute! And I’m so excited that I get to see him again for his next session of his Grow with me Plan and that I got to photograph him as a newborn as well.

Me and this little guys mama go waaaaay back. Like to the awkwardness of pre-teen times. Lot’s of good memories and I’m so lucky that my profession has given me an excuse to stay in touch with friends no matter where our lives take us. I’ve seen this little sweetie three times now: once for his 8 month session, their family session and now at 17 months for a short little shoot. I think you’ll agree he’s pretty darn cute.

I’m so fortunate to be able to build relationships with my clients and get to see them multiple times. Avery’s mom thinks that she was easier during her newborn session, but I think she was a doll (howbeit sassy maybe haha) during her one year portraits. I’m all about those natural expressions, even the non smiling ones. Oh man, I am so smitten with this little sweetie. She was beyond cute and just loved my camera Not to mention her mom was fabulous in her outfit selections and brought along that little piano prop that was to die for. Our cake smash at the end included some photos of kisses from Dean their doggy (or “dog dog” as Kiera says) the same way we included those in her newborn photos. Although this time it was birthday cake rather than a dab of chicken broth that Dean was licking off of her haha. Oooooh man did I want to steal this little cutie. The hair, the tongue, the dimples, those rolls, the twinkly blue eyes all just melted me. And he was as easy to photograph for the 6 month session of his Grow with me Plan as he was for his newborn session.
