I love getting to see my clients children grow, and especially in that first year since they change so much and so quickly! Here are the photos from Annalise’s newborn session with me. We were lucky to get nice enough weather to do outside spring photos for Annalise and we even hunted down the first of the spring blooms. You can see in the photos that we had fun with her favorite ball, played peek-a-boo and had fun smashing up her beautiful first birthday cake. I also love that mom brought some sentimental items. I always instruct clients that baby photo sessions should be about capturing the stage that they’re at at the time, since it goes away so quickly. And it just so happened that Annalise was in a stage where she couldn’t get enough cuddles from her stuffed turtle. I love the sweetness of that image. Another sentimental item mom brought was the crocheted dress her mom made for her grandbaby and which they took photos of her in as a newborn. Bringing items like those allowed me to document such sweet memories for this family. If you’d like to hear about my Grow with Me Plans, send me an email at email@example.com
Mason was one of my Grow with Me Plan babies and I am so sad that this was the last session of his first year! He was such a ray of sunshine every time that we got together. That blue-eyed-blonde-haired-big-dimpled-sweetie always had some new, adorable personality quirk every time I got to photograph him. For this session it was his “grumpy face” which is so cute that mom and dad trained him to do it on command haha. This is the second time that I’ve seen Nicholas for a special-just-for-him-photo-session. It’s pretty rare that I get inquiries from mom’s who just want to do photos of their kiddos so I really savored all the fun that came with following Nicholas around his backyard. He was super proud to show off all his hard work in their garden and where he plays on a regular basis. Keeping kiddos in their domain really helps them feel at ease and gets them excited about showing me all of the things they would normally be doing if I weren’t there-which is my favorite way to photograph children.
It was such an honor to do this families photos. Doug was my high school photography teacher and really encouraged me to pursue photography. Through his vote of confidence along with advice about business, I started on my photo journey. I’m grateful that I was able to do one small thing as a thank you for him.
